Description
Laser diode driver PDD-1600 is probably the most powerful 1600W pulsed laser diode driver module in the aesthetic world. It provides fast-switching, low-noise, accurate and efficient current for laser diodes. PDD-1600 was developed, first of all, for medical aesthetic treatments, namely, for hair removal, but also have found applications in other medical systems. For hair removal systems it suitable also for 8 cm2 or larger spot sizes.
By default, the driver has averaged output power up to 1600 W and maximum peak output power up to 10 kW (depending on user defined Imax and Vmax), runs on common 100‑240 V AC, 50/60 Hz, so you don’t need extra power supply for the driver. There is a modification available with averaged output power over 2000 W with 200-240 V AC input. Less powerful series are laser diode driver PDD-300 and PDD-1000 specially designed for systems with two handpieces: IPL + diodes.
Several variants of PDD-1600 pulsed laser diode driver module are possible with different maximum output voltage level (Vmax), selected at the moment of order. We would recommend to pick Vmax as close as possible to your diodes operating voltage in order to provide the optimal working mode of the device.
During operation an output current level could be set up in a working range (0 A ‑ Imax) by user, applying a DC voltage to the respective pin.
Since the driver was specially designed for hair removal applications, it is fully compliant to the latest versions of medical standards: IEC 60601-1:2005/AMD1:2012 for electrical safety and IEC 60601-1-2:2014 for EMC, so PDD-1600 can be used in medical systems without any modifications, any additional filtration or additional means of protection.
High reliability and efficiency, easy to integrate OEM design and customizing parameters for tailored solutions make PDD-1600 series an attractive product on the market.

Frequently Asked Questions
The PDD-1600 is a series of high-power pulsed diode drivers designed for applications such as direct diode hair removal. It offers peak output power up to 10kW and averaged output power up to 1600W.
The default input voltage for the PDD-1600 is 100-240VAC. Modifications with 200-240VAC input and increased output power are available upon request.
The PDD-1600 is classified as CLASS I ME EQUIPMENT and must be protectively grounded to avoid the risk of electrical shock.
If a fault occurs, the module will automatically stop operations and set a Fault status. To remove the Fault state, disable the driver, eliminate the fault cause, and enable it again.
No, the PDD-1600 should only be used with an adequate load such as diodes. A resistive load will severely distort its behavior, although it won't destroy the driver.
No additional cooling is required for the PDD-1600 as it contains a fan for active cooling.
No, the PDD-1600 is not suitable for use in the presence of flammable anesthetic mixtures with air, oxygen, or nitrous oxide.
