Description
The 1392 nm DFB Butterfly Laser Diode from BOX Optronics is a high-performance continuous-wave semiconductor source engineered for precise water-vapor detection.
Housed in a hermetic 14-pin butterfly package, it integrates a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) and 10 kΩ NTC thermistor for millikelvin-level wavelength stability across −20 to +60 °C operating conditions.
The device delivers 12 mW typical fiber-coupled power at 50 mA drive current, with a narrow linewidth centered at 1392 nm and an excellent side-mode suppression ratio exceeding 55 dB, ensuring exceptional spectral purity for H2O absorption lines.
A low threshold current of 10 mA and 0.35 mW/mA slope efficiency provide energy-efficient operation, while Telcordia GR-468 qualification and RoHS compliance guarantee long-term field reliability.
The laser is terminated with 1 m of single-mode fiber (8.2/125 µm) and an FC/APC connector, offering low back-reflection and easy integration into gas-sensing modules, LIDAR systems, or environmental monitors.
