Frequently Asked Questions

The SPCO modules are used for 3D rapid prototyping, laser and amplifier pumping, soldering, material processing, and illumination.

The SPCO modules are high power, ruggedly constructed, sealed packages that are industry-compatible (SPI). They use a proprietary technique to couple the output beam of the diode laser bar into a small bundle of optical fibers without using any additional optical element, resulting in a compact, rugged, high-performance, and cost-effective device.

The SPCO-1808-1511-F-500 pump diode module has a wavelength of 808 ±3 nm, a fiber diameter of 1.10 ±0.05 mm, and can deliver up to 15 W cw. Its fiber numerical aperture is 0.12, and its compliance voltage is 2.5 V maximum. It has a fiber length of 5m, and its drive current is 40 A maximum. Its operating current (TYP) is 22A (15W), and its operating temperature is 15 C to 35C.

The SPCO-1808-1511-F-500 pump diode module is designated solely as an OEM component to be incorporated into a Spectra Physics laser product. Therefore, it does not comply with the appropriate requirements of FDA 21CFR, section 1040.10 and 1040.11 for a complete laser system.

The SPCO-1808-1511-F-500 pump diode module is a device that incorporates a linear diode laser array to generate a high level of optical power. It is a direct replacement for Spectra-Physics pump diode modules.
