Nd:YVO4 crystal has low lasing threshold and high slope efficiency, low dependency on pump wavelength, large stimulated emission cross-section at lasing wavelength, high absorption over a wide pumping wavelength bandwidth, and emits polarized laser due to its optically uniaxial and large birefringence properties.

Nd:YVO4 crystal has an atomic density of 1.26x1020 atoms/cm³ (Nd1.0%), a crystal structure of Zircon Tetragonal, space group D4h-I4/amd, a density of 4.22g/cm3, and a thermal expansivity of aa=4.43x10-6/K and ac=11.37x10-6/K at 300K.

Nd:YVO4 crystal is used as a laser host crystal for diode laser pumped solid state lasers. It is an excellent crystal for high power, stable and cost-effective diode pumped solid-state lasers.
