Er:Glass is erbium and ytterbium co-doped phosphate glass that has excellent properties and is suitable for a variety of applications, including 1.54μm laser, medical applications, and optical fiber communication.

The wavelength of Er:Glass is 1540 nm, which is eye safe and has high transmission through the atmosphere.

The variants of Er:Glass available are EAT14 and Cr14. EAT14 is Erbium Glass doped with Er3+ and Yb3+ and suited to applications involving high repetition rates (1-6Hz) and being pumped with 1535nm laser diodes. Cr14 is Erbium Glass doped with Er3+, Yb3+ and Cr3+ and suited to applications involving xenon lamp pumping.

The transformation temperature of EAT14 is 556ºC and the transformation temperature of Cr14 is 455ºC.

The chemical durability of EAT14 is 52 ug/hr.cm2 at 100ºC weigh loss rate distilled water, and the chemical durability of Cr14 is 103 ug/hr.cm2 at 100ºC weigh loss rate distilled water.
