Description
The Pure Photonics MEMS-Based Variable Optical Attenuator (VOA) delivers ultra-compact, high-performance attenuation for modern optical networks. Featuring Lumentum’s advanced MEMS technology, this VOA offers precise control of optical power with both bright and dark configurations available to suit various system requirements. The hermetically-sealed MEMS chip provides excellent resilience, ensuring stable performance even under shock, vibration, or electrostatic discharge conditions (ESD safe up to 500 V).
Designed for flexible integration, this VOA supports low insertion loss, minimal polarization-dependent loss, a high dynamic range, and superior off-state extinction, making it ideal for applications such as receiver protection, transponder power control, and equalization in multi-channel systems including EDFAs. Pure Photonics currently maintains inventory of the VOA8000 model, while the smaller form-factor VOA9000 is available upon request. Compact, reliable, and versatile, the MEMS VOA is a trusted solution for managing optical power in demanding network environments.
