Frequently Asked Questions

KTA crystal is an excellent nonlinear optical crystal used for Optical Parametric Oscillation (OPO) application, Frequency Doubling (SHG), Sum and Difference Frequency Generation (SFG)/(DFG), and Laser Ranging.

KTA crystal has high transmittance at 3000–5000nm, high damage threshold, broad temperature acceptance, and high efficiency.

KTA crystals feature large nonlinear optical and electro-optical coefficients, wide angular bandwidth and small walk-off angle, broad temperature and spectral bandwidth, high damage threshold, and lower absorption in the 3-4 µm spectrum range than KTP.

The specifications of KTA crystal include dimension tolerance, angle tolerance, surface quality, parallelism, flatness, wavefront distortion, coatings, damage threshold, perpendicularity, chamfer, chips, and clear aperture.
