Description
Optran® UVNSS optical fibers are silica/silica fibers with a fluorine-doped cladding, and an additional hermetic carbon layer, designed for light transmission in the 190–1200 nm spectral range. The fibers are available with a range of core diameters and numerical aperture configurations, enabling integration into various optical system designs.
Optran® UVNSS fibers are high-OH fibers and build on the UVNS fiber design, incorporating a hermetic carbon layer that provides an additional protective barrier. This layer supports increased resistance to environmental influences and contributes to reduced UV-induced degradation under elevated UV exposure conditions.
The fibers are available with numerical aperture options of 0.12 ± 0.02, 0.22 ± 0.02, and 0.28 ± 0.02, as well as custom configurations. Core diameters range from 100 to 600 µm with standard core-to-cladding ratios including 1:1.06, 1:1.1, 1:1.2, and 1:1.4. The fiber is suitable for applications such as UV spectroscopy, analytical instrumentation, and optical systems operating under demanding conditions.
