Description
Optran® WF optical fibers are designed for light transmission in the 700–2400 nm spectral range, with silica core and fluorine-doped cladding. The fibers are available with a wide range of core diameters and numerical aperture configurations for integration into optical systems.
Optran® WF fibers are low-OH fibers with a hydroxyl content typically below 1 ppm, with lower levels available upon request. They are used in applications focusing on the visible and near-infrared wavelength range and represent a standard fiber type for VIS/NIR transmission within the specified spectral range.
The fibers are available with numerical apertures ranging from approximately 0.12 ± 0.02 to 0.28 ± 0.02 and can be configured with different buffer and jacket materials including silicone, hard polymer, polyimide, ETFE, nylon, and acrylate.
Standard proof test levels include up to 100 kpsi (nylon, ETFE, acrylate) and 70 kpsi (polyimide). The fibers can be used in spectroscopy, analytical instrumentation, optical sensing, and measurement systems operating in the VIS/NIR wavelength range.
