Frequently Asked Questions

AGSe2 is an infrared nonlinear crystal with band edges at 0.73 and 18 µm. It has a useful transmission range of 0.9–16 µm and wide phase matching capability.

AGSe2 can be used for generating second harmonics on CO and CO2 lasers, optical parametric oscillators, different frequency generators to middle infrared regions up to 18um, and frequency mixing in the middle IR region.

The standard cross sections of AGSe2 are 8x8mm and 5x5mm, and the crystal length ranges from 1 to 30mm. Custom sizes are also available on request.

The transparency range of AGSe2 is 0.73-18.0um, and the refractive indices are no 2.7010, 2.6134, and 2.5912 @1.064um, 5.300um, and 10.60um, respectively.

The NLO coefficients of AGSe2 @10.6um are d36=d24=d15=39.5pm/V, and the linear electro-optic coefficients are Y41T=4.5pm/V and Y63T=3.9pm/V. The damage threshold @~10ns, 1.064um is 20-30MW/cm2 (surface).
