Frequently Asked Questions

The QBU-BT-10kV Pockels cell driver is a device that produces high voltage pulses with high repetition rates, fast rise and fall times, and adjustable voltage amplitude and pulse width. It is used to operate Pockels cells under half-wave voltage schemes or with larger crystals.

The QBU-BT-10kV can operate in pulses up mode, pulses down mode, and external synchronization mode, where it can repeat an external signal.

The voltage level, operating frequency, and pulse width can be selected by the user within the working range via RS-232 or from the front panel.

The QBU-BT-10kV can produce output voltages up to 10 kV.

The QBU-BT-10kV operates best in temperatures ranging from +10 to +40 °C, and can be stored in temperatures from -20 to +60 °C. It can operate in humidity levels from 0 to 90%, non-condensing.

The rise time is less than 20 ns and the fall time is less than 25 ns.

The performance of the QBU-BT-10kV is optimized for load capacitances typical to Pockels cells used in the laser industry (5-7pF). Higher load capacitance decreases the performance.
