MBC-HER High Extinction Ratio Mini Modulator Bias Controller
Description
The MBC-HER High Extinction Ratio Mini Modulator Bias Controller is a compact OEM device designed for high extinction ratio applications. It allows precise control of the working point of a single MZ modulator, enabling selection of the positive slope quadrature (Quad+), negative slope quadrature (Quad-), null, or peak points of its characteristic curve.
With an exceptionally small pilot tone, the MBC-HER achieves an extinction ratio of > 45 dB (depending on modulator limits). The locking modes and slopes are selectable via jumper positions on the PCB, and it includes a pigtailed photodetector with the option to use an external photodetector.
