Features

  • High Sensitivity and Linearity: The 9879B photomultiplier features an S20 infra-red sensitive photocathode on a sandblasted window, enhancing cathode sensitivity. It includes 12 BeCu dynodes of linear focused design for excellent linearity and timing.

  • Wide Spectral Range: Spectral range from 290 nm to 870 nm, with a quantum efficiency exceeding 1% of peak.

  • Applications: Ideal for film scanners, pollution monitoring, and other applications requiring high pulsed linearity and low afterpulsing.

  • Photocathode: S20 with an active diameter of 46 mm and a quantum efficiency at peak of 21%.

  • Anode Sensitivity: Nominal anode sensitivity of 500 A/lm, with a maximum rated sensitivity of 2000 A/lm.

  • Dark Current: At 20 ºC, the dark current is 10-100 nA at nominal A/lm, and 40 nA at max. rated A/lm.

  • Magnetic Field Sensitivity: The most sensitive direction is 1 x 10-4 T.

  • Timing Characteristics: Single electron rise time of 2 ns, FWHM of 3 ns, and jitter (FWHM) of 2.2 ns.

  • Compact and Lightweight: Weighs only 130 g.

  • Robust Design: Maximum ratings include an anode current of 100 µA and cathode current of 1000 nA, with a temperature range up to 80 ºC.
