Description
Right angle prisms are precision optical components primarily used to deflect light or image paths by 90°. This fundamental function inherently produces a mirror-reversed (left-handed) image. Depending on the prism's orientation relative to the input, the final image can also be inverted (upside down) or reverted (sideways flipped). Beyond single-axis bending, pairs of right angle prisms are commonly employed for precise image or beam displacement along the vertical or horizontal axis.
