Frequently Asked Questions

The MK52 Vibration Control Workstation is a passive vibration isolation workstation designed for ultra-low natural frequency applications. It utilizes Minus K negative stiffness vibration isolators to provide excellent vertical and horizontal isolation efficiencies.

Minus K isolators employ Negative-Stiffness technology in low-frequency vibration isolation. These mechanisms compress the internal springs, flexures and columns to completely mechanical vibration. Adjusted to a 1/2 Hz natural frequency, the workstation achieves about 93% isolation efficiency at 2 Hz, 99% at 5 Hz and 99.7% at 10 Hz.

The MK52 Series offers the ultimate performance for a wide range of instruments, such as lasers, optics, analytical balances, cell injection, confocal microscopes, patch clamping, optical microscopes, wafer probing, sensor calibration atomic force microscopes and other sensitive equipment in fields such as semiconductor processing, telecommunications, aerospace engineering, and medical research.

The MK52 Series has a vertical natural frequency of 1/2 Hz or less over the entire load range, and a horizontal natural frequency that is load dependent. It also has a vertical load adjustment crank, a vertical load adjustment indicator, and a vertical stiffness adjustment screw to dial in guaranteed 1/2 Hz or less vertical natural frequency. It is cleanroom compatible.

The MK52 Negative-Stiffness Optical Table Isolation System has a maximum load capacity of 2000 lbs, a maximum width of tabletop of 48", and a maximum length of tabletop of 96". It has a vertical natural frequency of 0.5 Hz and a horizontal natural frequency of 0.5 Hz. Its isolation efficiency is 93% at 2 Hz, 99% at 5 Hz, and 99.7% at 10 Hz. It is available in different tabletop descriptions and is customizable with accessories.
