Frequently Asked Questions

Dichroic longpass filters have negligible absorption, making them suitable for high powers and do not show the strong fluorescence of certain glass filters. They can be cut down or edged to special shapes and sizes at short notice, mounted on diameters and squares, and supplied in a wooden storage box for research and laboratory use.

Dichroic longpass filters are available in standard sizes of 12.5mm and 25mm diameter or 50mm square types. They can also be cut and edged for non-standard sizes to suit your application, ranging from square 7mm-300mm and diameter 10mm-400mm.

The wavelength accuracy of dichroic longpass filters is +/-5nm, and the transmission is T Max=95% typical dependant on type and substrate.

Dichroic longpass filters are used to transmit wavelengths higher than the cut on point and reflect all lower wavelengths.

Dichroic filters are available in longpass, shortpass, bandpass, bandblocking, hot and cold mirrors, IR and UV cut-off.
