Description
The OptoPHY™ is a snap-on pluggable optical transceiver. OptoPHY offers customers the flexibility of field replaceable, pluggable optical transceivers by interfacing to systems via a 100-pin small form factor connector. The OptoPHY subassembly contains eight parallel fiber optic transceivers, each operating at data rates from 1 Gbps up to 25.78 Gbps and supporting a reach up to 2000 meters over standard single mode fiber. By embedding transmitters, receivers, and optics into a single small footprint package, OptoPHY delivers the industry’s leading high-density per gigabit solution. An optical connector is attached to OptoPHY via a short pigtail fiber cable, enabling users to place devices anywhere on the PCB board, eliminating the need for edge mounting. This design flexibility increases front panel connector density and improves system EMI performance.
