Frequently Asked Questions
Pockels cells are used to change the polarization state of light passing through it when a voltage is applied to the electrodes of electro-optic crystals such as KD*P, BBO, RTP, etc.
CASTECH's BBO and DKDP Q switches have high damage threshold and extinction ratio, low absorption loss, good temperature stability, small capacitance value, fast switching speed, and compact structure.
Pockels cells are used for Q-switching of the laser cavity, cavity dumping, regenerative amplifiers, and medical and aesthetic laser systems.
CASTECH offers DPCC series, which are cylindrical, and DPCS series, which are cubic. The electrode connection can be optional among wires, thread, and pin. DPCC8S-TB is available with an integrated, pre-adjusted Brewster polarizer, and DPCC8S-TC is available with ceramic to control the aperture. For the DPCS series, switching voltage can be halved such as DPCS8D-P.
The maximum high voltage pulse amplitude of PCD-L10P-4-A is 4 kV.
