Frequently Asked Questions

Protein and yield mapping provide a more complete picture of the nitrogen availability and uptake in the field. Research shows that cereal crops with protein content less than 11.5% have not reached their full yield potential and that additional nitrogen fertilization would provide a positive yield.

The CropScan 3300H measures grains as they are sampled off the clean grain elevator. Grain drops into the Remote Sampling Head where it is trapped for a few seconds while light is passed through the sample. A fiber optic cable collects the transmitted light and sends it to the NIR spectrometer located inside the cabin.

The CropScan 3300H has been installed on John Deere, Case, New Holland, Claas, Massey Ferguson, and Gleaner combines around the world.

The CropScan 3300H provides real-time field maps for protein, moisture, and oil. It also provides accurate moisture measurements and grain logistics software with a blending estimator to optimize crop payments.

The CropScan 3300H is a Near Infrared Transmission spectrometer that measures protein, oil, and moisture in cereal grains and oil seeds as they are stripped in a combine harvester.
