Description
QBY-Series Pockels Cell Drivers Overview The QBY-series represents a cutting-edge advancement in Pockels cell drivers, utilizing GaN transistors to generate high voltage pulses with remarkable precision. These drivers are engineered to deliver high repetition rates, rapid rise and fall times, and customizable pulse widths and amplitudes. Such capabilities make them an ideal choice for applications requiring precise control and high-performance outputs. QBY provide bipolar voltage pulses (3-4 ns rise/fall) on the outputs to control the birefringence of an electro-optical crystal to change the polarization state of light passing through.
The series presently includes three distinct models: the QBY-4001, QBY-4008-P, and QBY-4010-A. Each model is tailored to meet specific cooling and performance needs. The QBY-4001 serves as the base model, offering a bare PCB design. It was designed as a very compact model with fast switch to obtain short pulses starting from 10 ns. The QBY-4008-P is an enhanced model equipped with integrated heatsinks for improved thermal management. Meanwhile, the QBY-4010-A features forced-air cooling with integrated fans, enabling it to achieve the highest repetition rates within the series. In terms of performance, the QBY-series drivers can achieve outstanding repetition rates depending on the output voltage and cooling conditions. For instance, the QBY-4010-A can reach up to 10kHz at 4kV with forced air cooling, and up to 100kHz at lower voltages. This versatility allows users to optimize the driver's performance to suit various operational environments and requirements. Overall, the QBY-series Pockels cell drivers stand out for their advanced technology and adaptability, making them a valuable asset for industries and applications demanding high-speed, high-voltage pulse generation.
