Frequently Asked Questions

The QBY-series Pockels cell driver is a novel device based on GaN transistors designed to produce high voltage pulses with high repetition rates, fast rise and fall times, and adjustable pulse width and amplitude.

The QBY-series includes three models: QBY-4001 (bare PCB), QBY-4008-P (enclosed PCB with heatsinks), and QBY-4010-A (enclosed PCB with fans for forced-air cooling).

The QBY-4001 can use convective or forced air cooling with an external fan, the QBY-4008-P uses conductive cooling with integrated heatsinks, and the QBY-4010-A uses forced air cooling with integrated fans.

The QBY-4010-A model can achieve a maximum repetition rate of up to 10kHz at 4kV and up to 100kHz at smaller voltages with forced air cooling.

The QBY-series drivers require an input power of 24VDC with a maximum current of 0.5A.

The pulse amplitude is adjustable up to 4000V, and the pulse width is adjustable from 10ns to 1000ns. Other specifications are available upon request.

Yes, a bench-top version, the QBY-BT, with an embedded pulse generator is available.
