Even an indirect exposure to laser radiation through a reflection from a shiny surface may cause a serious damage. Laser Goggles exploit the limited wavelength range of the laser to filter out the laser light but allow ambient light to pass through. Thus it is important to choose the right goggle designed specifically for the particular laser. Also important to note that goggles may not protect from direct beam exposure.
