Angstrom, Inc. emerged in 1962 as a supplier of consumables, accessories, and service for arc-spark spectrometers. Initially focused on arc-spark spectrometry, the company expanded into manufacturing its own line of spectrometers, with models like V-70, V-71, V-80, V-83, and V-950, gaining prominence in industries like automotive and steel.

In 1999, Angstrom initiated a successful partnership with Arun Technology UK, distributing their CCD desktop spectrometers until 2022. While arc-spark manufacturing ceased in 2016, Angstrom remains a leading provider of sample preparation equipment for XRF analysis. The 4451AE Pellet Press and TE250 Ring and Puck Mill are industry standards, recommended by OEMs.
