Beryllate Lanthanum
Description
Single-crystals of La2Be2O5:Nd3+ are highly effective material for solid-state lasers oscillating at the wavelength of 1,07 – 1,08 mm. Energetic characteristics of a lanthanum-beryllate laser are twice greater as those of an yttrium-aluminium garnet (Y3Al5O12:Nd3+) laser and are not inferior to those of a GSGG (Gd3Se2Ga3O12:Cr3+,Nd3+) laser. It operates well in the mode of picosecond pulses at a pulse duration of 3 – 5 ps with an efficiency several times higher as that of YAG. Rods with round cross-sections are manufactured.

The energetic characteristics of the Beryllate Lanthanum laser are twice greater than those of an yttrium-aluminium garnet (Y3Al5O12:Nd3+) laser and are not inferior to those of a GSGG (Gd3Se2Ga3O12:Cr3+,Nd3+) laser.
The laser rods of the Beryllate Lanthanum laser have a diameter of 4-12 mm and a length of 50-100 mm. They have a diameter tolerance of ±0.1 mm, a length tolerance of ±0.5 mm, and an orientation tolerance of <5°. The end faces are unparallel and the surface quality is 10-5 scratch-dig. The flatness is λ/10.
The Nd3+ concentration range for the Beryllate Lanthanum laser is 1-5 at.%.
The Beryllate Lanthanum laser operates well in the mode of picosecond pulses at a pulse duration of 3-5 ps.
The wavelength of oscillation for the Beryllate Lanthanum laser is 1.07-1.08 mm.
