Frequently Asked Questions

The Kilo-DM deformable mirror is used for demanding applications in astronomy, laser communications, and imaging through scattering media.

MEMS deformable mirrors have large actuator arrays that create high resolution wavefront correction, advanced microstructures that allow minimal influence between adjacent actuators for high spatial frequency surfaces, and an optimized design that enables rapid wavefront shaping for high speed applications.

The Kilo-DM has 952 actuators while the 492-DM has 492 actuators. The Kilo-DM is used for demanding applications in astronomy, laser communications, and imaging through scattering media, while the 492-DM is used for astronomy and imaging applications.

The stroke of the DM specifications is 1.5 μm or 3.5 μm.

The maximum frame rate of the driver specifications is 34 kHz / 60 kHz (Low Latency).
