An optical surface profiler is a measuring instrument developed to analyze a surface's profile in order to quantify its roughness. This involves categorizing irregularities using height, depth and interval measurements. Surface profilers can measure many types of surfaces, from very smooth to super rough, with precision smaller than 0.1 nm!
