Association for Advancing Automation (A3)

The Association for Advancing Automation (A3) is a North American trade association representing over 1,100 organizations involved in robotics, artificial intelligence, machine vision & imaging, motion control & motors, and related automation technologies. The organization is the result of a convergence of three key trade groups: the Robotic Industries Association (RIA), AIA-Advancing Vision + Imaging (AIA), and the Motion Control and Motors Association (MCMA), along with A3 Mexico.

A3's mission is to promote automation technologies and ideas that transform the way business is done, and to become the global advocate for the benefits of automating. Since its founding in 1974 as a robotics association, A3 has become a trusted resource for companies seeking education and information on how to successfully automate.

A3 sponsors trade shows, conferences, and other networking events, hosts the leading global website on automation technologies, collects industry statistics and generates market research, develops consensus standards, provides certification programs, hosts webinars and podcasts, and engages in a wide variety of other educational activities.
